Hey Kyle, just got finished with chapter 1 & 2. What have you learned about Pele so far?
I've also learned that Pele grew up in the small city of Bauru, which is close to Rio in Brazil
Hey geraint, I've learned about Pele's young life and how soccer was always important to him and his family
Pele's childhood always seemed to be about soccer and family. I learned his father, was a Brazilian soccer player. Additionally, Pele said he grew up extremely poor.
My book says the same thing, his dad Dondinho was a great soccer player who got a chance by getting called up to a lucrative club but got hurt his first game and was never the same and he struggled to make ends meet
Nice! My book mentioned a lot about Pele's dad. Crazy fact that i found out was Pele isn't Pele's real name. It actually is, Dico. Pele got his name from being nicknamed after his favorite Football player.
Indeed. I saw that too in my book! Did your book talk about Pele's soccer games he use to have in his neighborhood all the time?
How could they forget it? They said, when Pele was a child he used to skip school very frequently and practice soccer. He was very involved throughout the soccer community in Brazil

Pele said it taught him a great lesson to never give up in my book. And don't get cocky.
After they lost their world cup match they blamed the loss on the two darkest colored players on the team and even after 20 years still reminded them off their loss
I'm surprised my book did say that aswell. That shows that every country has racism.
