Hey, so my book takes place at Auschwitz. Does your prisoner go there or just to a camp in Poland?
In my book every Jew is in a ghetto and the ones that play on the street get picked up to work
my book has not yet mentioned Auschwitz
oh okay. I didn't know that the twins were "spared the random selections and march to the gas chambers".(pg. 9) But they still get separated from their family. Has your prisoner been separated from his family yet?
Or does he not get separated or do you not know yet?
No my family is still with all his family at moment
in my book they have rations but in the ghetto they Don't get much so they find a way to get bread put the prize multiples
I know the twins got rations as part of the experiments but Mengele also gave them candy after each shot or needle so they got special privileges the other prisoners didnt
Nazi went to ever flat in the ghetto and took all their valuables , in your book did they take anything from them ?
I haven't gotten there yet in the book. Right now they're just giving the background of their lives
So I found a fact that I want to look up. Apparently a couple years after the way, the rabbi in the town told everyone that if they had bars of soap leftover, to bring them to the temple because apparently they were made from human flesh. Does your book say anything to verify that?
No they don't say anything to verify that
What were the facts that you found so far?? And I can see if my book says anything about them
My books people had rules like you had to have at least four family in your flat
What is a flat??
a flat is like a house
the mom of my person, seen the Nazis where taking people valuables, she sewed the rest of their valuables in there clothes, did people in your book do things like this to hide stuff.
actually, the mother of a set of twins arrived at Auschwitz with her girls. She was so determined to keep her twins with her instead of giving them to Mengele, that she hid the twins under her skirt!
which is actually very different than another mother of a different set of twins. The mom wanted her kids to leave her and run back to Mengele and tell him that they were twins, while the mom and younger brother went to the crematorium
in my book they had a leader that actually wanted to give up all the kids to the work camps to save him and other adults
The Jewish council of one of the ghettos actually made a secret pact with the Germans to have Jewish prisoners send postcards from the camps saying they were fine so the people would leave almost willingly
another thing that happen in my book is that some people escaped the camps and went back to the ghetto and people through they were lying about Jews being worked to death
I've heard about people escaping but my book doesn'tmention anything like that
so my book said Nazis were boiling Jews bodies to make soap but it was rumor in the ghetto in my book .
so it is mentioned in my book like it is in yours
Okay! I'll still check up on that for the project but thank you for confirming it!
also in my book everyone hides in different places where they dpnt have to go to work camps
In my book, the Jews don't know where they're going so nobody tried to hide
people in my book just knew they were going to a work camp but my person and his family lived in a pigeon cope because they where scared but now there all at camps
My book says that as soon as the people got off the cattle cars at Auschwitz that Mengele was calling " 'Twins! Twins!' " Does your book have anything like that happening at the other concentration camps??
in my book at first they got train cart and after moving twice in them they got cattle cart and when the cattle carts at train station littles like 5 and 6 would yell what Nazis would do to them
Does your book mention the Nuremberg Laws?
what are the Nuremberg laws
They are the laws that Hitler placed on the Jews telling them they are no longer German citizens and they can't have a profession
My book mentions that is became so dangerous in Czechoslovakia that nobody would taken anyone in. Does your book mention this happening elsewhere?
I mean like helping to hide Jews in their businesses or houses
in my book there was no one tide you but yourself
The twins in my book were allowed to keep their hair and clothes unlike the other prisoners
in my book they didn't say anything about cutting their hair yet but they didn't get to keep their clothes they had to change into what they gave them
The barracks the twins slept in were filthy and they slept multiple to a bed
that's pretty much the same in my book but they haven't had to share beds yet with others
If the twins were caught stealing food, they weren't severely punished because of their protected status
my book doesn't say that directly but people in my book were kill for no reason sometimes so I assume they would get killed for stealing food
my person actually goes to ten camps and they see a British plain at one of the camps
My twins see planes flying over Auschwitz and they actually hear rumors that the Germans are losing the war
in my book everyone was treated pretty but as time went on it got worse is this the same in your book
The twins don't get treated badly unless they are undergoing experiments
in my book everyone seems not to care about their lives anymore cause they think it will be over soon for them but sometimes its the exact opposite and they care and want to live ,
The twins want to go home and they hate Auschwitz, but they love Mengele and they actually call him "Uncle Mengele" because he was so kind to them
another thing is at first the people in camps believed what the Nazis where saying but after a day or two they found out the truth , Nazis at first lie to them but why lie
I guess they were lying because they didn't want them to know the truth about their plans to exterminate the Jews
The twins had a strict routine regulated y Mengele. similar or different to yours?
The twins got to be bathed and cleaned before experiments
Mine only got to shower once when they first got to only one camp when they were shaved and got there tattoo
One of the twins was a mother and she tried to kill herself because her son died. Did anyone in your book try to kill themselves?
No but one time a person killed one of one of his fellow people in a salt mine but no sucides
The twins had to remove their clothes and the Nazis took pictures of the naked children? Did that happen in your book and why would they take pictures?
No they haven't done that in my book . The only reason I can think of why they would do that is to degrade them, make them feel humiliated
One twin's brother became paralyzed from a spine surgery then couldn't walk. Were there any instances when a prisoner couldn't walk due to maybe frostbite or something like that?
in my book there a salt min camp and people who worked there a lot couldn't walk straight up .
In the cattle cars on the way to Auschwitz, it was very hot and they had a bucket for them to use the bathroom in. Is that similar or different to yours?
When they were in cattle cars it was hot if you were in the middle and cold if you were next to the sides and they didn't have anything to use the bathroom
The women prisoners were given either s regulated striped uniform or rags that didn't fit to wear. They also got one heel and one flat slipper for shoes because the Nazis wanted the women to look ridiculous so no guard would be attracted to them
My book was only in men camps but nothing fitted them
One of the female doctors didn't agree with Mengele killing pregnant women and their babies so she gave them abortions or had the mom go into premature labor so she wouldn't be suspected as pregnant. The doctor's name is Dr. Gisella Perl. Is she mentioned in your book?
No, but my book only says things about the men not the women in the camps
I have my essay and 7/12 facts done so far for the project. What do you have done?
Haven't done the essay but working on the facts
The kids would go to their "Father" (head of the boy's barracks) crying that they missed their parents and were starving and that their bellies hurt
Everyone really just kept to themselves
"There was a yard at Auschwitz, and there we waited for the airplanes. For the British. For the Americans. For the Russians. For anyone who could save us" (72). Is this similar or different from yours?
Different my were in Berlin at the time so the Americans took them to a place with them and took care of them
In the front of the camp, there was a place where the Germans collected the dead bodies. Similar or different?
Different my person said that bodies were just left everywhere
my book had a lot of feelings in it and talked about rebellion
Mine didn't talk about rebellion but there were many feelings expressed
at one point the Nazis gave the jews a chance to kill themselves by running into a electric fence
The Nazis would shoot people if they moved too fast and there was a barbed wire where people would commit suicide. But that exact thing was never mentioned in my book
at the end it told about what they did after the war my person moved to America and changed his name
My twins moved to Palestine and America and different places around the world
in the end my book try to explain all the camps and how they where different but all where terrible in there own ways and I think it did a good job at telling them
Mine didn't say anything like that but they have detailed explanations of each person mentioned
one thing through it never said if my person tried to connect anyone he knew in the camps did they ever go to talk to each other
My twins were kept together but they never got to connect with anyone else in the camp
